Well Yes they can, and No they can't!



Yes, In the 21st century anybody can plug in an iPod and play music...

...and...

No! Not 'anybody' CAN DJ... Anybody can TRY to DJ but there's more to it than just playing the music!



It's about playing the songs 'your audience' wants to hear, not the songs 'your DJ' wants to hear.

It's about 'knowing' and 'feeling' what the next song should be.

You can't learn this from a youtube video.

You can't do an online course to teach it to you.

It takes years of playing the songs, reading the atmosphere and sensing what will and will not work to 'learn' the craft.

I remember once playing the wrong side of a 7"record (a very long time ago), and as I panicked to find something else to play, that wrong side worked and is still today one my most popular songs!
